The role holder will be responsible for coordinating and managing laboratory testing of samples collected from clients’ assets and preparing detailed reports.
Key Responsibility:
Performing routine sampling and analysis of hydrocarbon fluids, produced water, and gas samples for oil and gas facilities.
Conducting laboratory chemical evaluations and field trials for clients’ production and specialty chemicals.
Preparing and submitting bids, and executing assigned production chemistry contracts.
Handling gas analyzers.
Monitoring export and import gas quality, including CO2, H2S, ethyl mercaptan, copper corrosion, gas composition, and moisture content.
Carrying out flow assurance testing on samples collected from clients’ assets.
Managing chemical injection facilities for produced water re-injection and other chemical injection skids.
Conducting additional sampling and analysis on installations as necessary.
Overseeing operations of the production chemistry laboratory.
Education & Work Experience:
BSc/HND in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 4 years of demonstrable oil & gas production chemistry experience, including laboratory operations.
Must possess an NYSC discharge certificate.
Skills & Competencies:
Knowledge of gas sampling and analysis.
Proficiency in gas chromatography and gas analyzer applications, including troubleshooting.
Ability to troubleshoot and recommend process improvements for fluid sampling and analysis.
Experience in laboratory chemical evaluation and performance testing.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
